Human Factors Services
Biokinetics human factors services focus on the fit and function of personal protective equipment to ensure that optimal protection is afforded to the user in every day operation.
Biokinetics' analysis of protective headgear includes fit and comfort, stability during use with helmet mounted equipment, helmet retention during impact, weight-borne effects causing fatigue, binocular visual field of view, and equipment interference.
Our analysis capabilities are enhanced with the application of specialized test and measurement equipment such as:
- full range of physical and computer-based anthropometric headforms,
- 3D electro-mechanical probe for shape and interference measurements,
- helmet test equipment and sensors (quasi-static and dynamic retention, mass moment of inertia measurement, pressure-force-displacement-acceleration sensors, high speed video capture, data acquisition and signal conditioning equipment, and computer analysis and modeling software.
Biokinetics can also develop and manage small-scale user trials for human factors assessment of protective equipment for the whole body.
